Why do I need to Register?

We need all the information registered in the required fields into our system to proceed with your inquiry PLEASE follow the easy form on our ‘talk to us’  page.
Once we have this information in our system we will send you a welcome email directly back to you informing you if the day you require for our services is available and how we work.

All personal information given to us is stored within Brideshair database for our administration purposes only. We do not sell or rent your personal information to third parties for their marketing purposes and we abide by the rules of data protection from the Information Commissioner’s Office.

What does a FREE consultation involve?

Once you have received our Welcome email we call you as soon as possible in an evening to make an appointment at your convenience for Tracy Brideshair proprietor to meet with you, where you will be able view our portfolio and to discuss your requirements. If you live outside our 10 mile radius of Bournemouth and Poole BUT your wedding is within our travel area of Dorset and West Hampshire, we will call you to explain we will be setting up a secret ideas board for you within an online social platform and arrange a free telephone consultation with you a couple of days later. In the period to your telephone consultation we require from you named clear head & shoulder images of profile and back shots of all your wedding party who you are expecting us to quote to your secret board or email us the images. It is important the hair is loose & in a natural state, we are then able to fairly price your wedding day styling.
Our quote is itemised per person, enabling you to see each price clearly if anyone is funding their styling themselves.
Unlike many companies who give capped set prices this form of pricing leave you the bride with flexibility. We are fully aware many brides have a budget to stay within & therefore keep your quote open for any changes by you up to 10 days before your date.

How much do you charge?

We do offer a FREE initial 1 hour consultation.
For trials our fees are at a set rate of £55 per hour per stylist within a 10 mile radius of our based area Bournemouth/Poole Dorset. Brideshair fees are competitive & based on our Art director, Tracy (Brideshair proprietor), over 38 years of uninterrupted extensive high fashion & high street experience.

Due to every wedding and Bride being so very different, we do not provide fix wedding packages but, tailor each brides requests to their individual needs giving you the bride a full bespoke experience. We are as delighted to be there for just you the Bride or for your entire wedding party of bridesmaids.
We pride ourselves on pricing competitively each wedding individually according to the distance we may have to travel, the amount of work involved and how many in your wedding party. Your invoice is detailed to all involved meaning you are in full control  because we keep your quote open for any changes up to 14 days before your wedding date giving you the Bride full flexibility within your budget to add or remove any member.
If your wedding falls on a Sunday &/or Bank Holiday weekend if less than 2 persons in your party a surcharge of £50 maybe be added. Once you have accepted our fees this is deemed a contract of employment for our services. 30% deposit is required from your final fee, any monies paid to Brideshair is Non refundable due to administration overheads and appointments which would have been made and will no longer be met. We will not negotiate individual prices.
Due to a high demand for our services we no longer are able to travel outside our 10 miles radius for a trials but will provide an address in the Bournemouth area.

Do I have to pay a deposit if so how much?

A 30% (Non refundable) deposit from your quoted figure is required. Any monies paid to Brideshair are Non refundable. Once you have agreed our fees from our invoice – you have engaged a contract of employment with us & your deposit is placed to secure your wedding date,all administration overheads and appointments which would have been made..

How far would you travel?

We travel within the counties of Dorset & the west of The New Forest. There is NO travel fee if your address for your wedding day preparations is inside our 10 mile base radius. After the first 10 miles we charge a standard travel fee of £40 between 10 miles to 40 miles of Bournemouth  base.

Since 2021 we took the decision to no long travel over 45 mins to attend a wedding – This is due to increased traffic which has increased 3 fold in the surrounding areas of Bournemouth /Poole/ Wimborne these past 5 years. therefore sadly we no longer travel outside Dorset unless the bride is in agreement to pay for an overnight accommodation. We cover from East of Dorchester – Blandford (south)  & Wimborne, Poole, Bournemouth & Christchurch. With the exception of  The New Forest (West Hampshire) – Beaulieu.

FOR TRIALS – Due to appointments being in demand we do not travel outside of a 10 mile Bournemouth base area for trials However we will offer a local address if you live further afield  & do not have access to a local address to us.

What method of payment will you accept for my wedding day hair?

We accept online payment (BACS) &  cash We do accept debit or credit cards. with a fee of £2.50

Payment for trials are separate & on the day of the appointment

We request a securing deposit within 14 days of your quote & final  balance for your wedding day is due from the Monday before your wedding day date. Relevant details of how to pay will be given at the time of receiving your invoice.

Do you do make-up as well as hair styling?

Brideshair is as it suggests a hairstyling service only. But happy to recommend a fully qualified make-up artist for you

Do you do hair up styles for any other occasion Proms for example?

Yes! We are happy to create hairstyles for any special occasion from the annual Christmas Party to Prom hair. Just register on our contact page for more information and availability.

What days do you work and do you work Bank Holidays?

Our daily schedule is Tuesday through to Saturday (Sunday for wedding day appointments only), we will accommodate Bank Holiday weekends on special request Easter through to August, however, we do not work on Mondays, Christmas Day, Boxing day or New Years Day. During 1st April to 1st October, we are unlikely to be available to perform trial appointments on Saturdays.

Do my bridesmaids have to have a trial & how soon do I need to book?

We advise you to insist any members of your wedding party who are concerned with their hair or are nervous of hairdressers to have a trial…..this will eliminate any difficulties on YOUR big day by reducing any stress on the day.

We recommend to leave it no later than 6- 8 weeks before the wedding day to book an appointment for a full rehearsal trial with your stylist. This helps everyone to become familiar with their hair design, to discuss any changes which may have to be made, giving peace of mind to you the bride, knowing all concerned will be happy on the wedding day.

Do I have to go to a salon to have my trial?

No….. our service is mobile from start to finish; we come to you at all times. On the occasion where a bride lives outside the Bournemouth & Poole area we discuss other arrangements. We do not accept a wedding without the commitment of a trial being performed  at least 4 weeks prior to the wedding day

What are your qualifications?

Tracy has served a full 4-year apprenticeship with additional hair styling courses including NVQ equivalent. Tracy is a full paid member of the Hairdressing Council & a State Registered Hairdressers (SRH) PLUS has over 30 years of uninterrupted experience is all level of hair styling including catwalk & photo-shoots.

Do you do hair extensions?

Permanent Hair extensions are a specialised element in hairdressing and we unfortunately do not provide this service.

However, we will secure on the day full hair pieces or clip in real hair extensions which the bride/bridesmaid supplies. Getting your colour and condition of your hair correct is our main concern. We do however recommend you to have your free consultation before going ahead with any additional hair styling because often permanent extensions are an unnecessary expense if the hair is styled correctly.

Why don't you return my call after I’ve left message on your voicemail?

Not wishing to disappoint any potential client our hair ,styling service is administered initially through the Internet. All our staff are mobile stylists & due to their daily schedule, it is not always possible to answer calls We are not able to answer any questions personally before you have registered with us. If you give all required information to us your registration is processed within 24 hours and you will be notified immediately of our availability through email.


Since Feb 2021 Tracy has been vaccinated. For all appointments until further notice we will continue to wear facial masks or facial visors. On arrival we sanitise our hands & the area we are expected to work, we will sanitise our equipment continuously throughout your appointment.

Until further notice – We expect all members of your wedding party to adhere to social distancing & wear masks whist having their hair styled. If any member of your party refuses to wear a mask we reserve the right to refuse to continue with their hair styling appointment.
